Graduate Student Admissions

At AUM, you can pursue your graduate degree in more than 48 fields, as well as choose from two doctoral degree programs including Public Administration and Public Policy in conjunction with Auburn University or Doctor of Nursing Practice. As a metropolitan campus, it's our mission to provide diverse educational opportunities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We use both traditional classroom and electronic delivery systems to ensure that the process of earning your degree fits your life. Our Master's degrees are administered by their respective colleges:

  • Master of Business Administration: GMAT or GRE waivers may be available.  Ask for details.
  • Master of Information Systems Management:  GMAT or GRE can be waived with GPA minimum met.
  • Master of Accountancy: GMAT
  • Master of Healthcare Administration: GMAT  or GRE waivers may be available.  Ask for details.

  • Alternative Master of Education: Bachelor's degree, 2.75 GPA, prerequisite coursework, PRAXIS Core test
  • Traditional Master of Education: Class B Alabama teaching certificate
  • Master of Education in Exercise Science: Bachelor’s degree
  • Master of Education in Sport Management (certification and non-certification): Bachelor’s degree
  • Master of Education in Instructional Leadership: Three years teaching experience, Class B Alabama teaching certificate, portfolio, interview
  • Master of Education in Counseling: (School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health options): Bachelor’s degree, portfolio, interview
  • Master of Education in Instructional Technology: Bachelor’s degree
  • Education Specialist: Master's Degree, Class A Alabama teaching certificate
  • Education Specialist (non-certification): Master's Degree

  • Master of Liberal Arts: General Section of GRE or MAT
  • Master of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Management: General Section of GRE or MAT if undergraduate GPA is below a 2.5
  • Master of Public Administration: General Section of GRE or MAT and portfolio
  • Master of Political Science: General Section of GRE or MAT and portfolio
  • Master of Science in Criminal Science: General Section of GRE or MAT if undergraduate GPA is below a 2.5
  • Master of Science in Applied Economics: GMAT or General Section of GRE if undergraduate GPA is below a 2.5 
  • Master of Teaching Writing: General Section of GRE or MAT, portfolio

  • Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator for Interprofessional Practice 
  • Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (Post-Masters)

  • Master of Science in Psychology: General Section of GRE or MAT, portfolio. Applicants are considered for admission each fall semester; portfolios must be submitted no later than April 15
  • Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems: General Section of GRE or MAT
  • Master of Science in Computer Science
  • Master of Science in Computer Information Systems and Cyber Security: General Section of GRE
